Do your kids like/enjoy/crave sweets? What is their favourite? Candy, cookies, chocolate, muffins, brownies, cakes? You know I dread store bought sweets and pastry – they are loaded with white refined sugar, food colouring, chemicals and other things that I don’t feel comfortable feeding to my kids.
But, I have good news for you! You don’t have to eliminate sweets and treats from your kids diet, all you have to do is make your own using healthier ingredients.
This week I wanted to share a favourite recipe from our own “home bakery” – healthy chocolate chip cookies!
Turn your kitchen into a bakery for one day and experience it for yourself! I enjoy cooking from scratch, but baking is by far my favourite kitchen activity! I love how kids and hubby check the oven impatiently to see if the treat is ready and how our entire home smells like vanilla! The best part about baking yourself is serving the sweets to your family – you’ll feel so proud of yourself that you are feeding them top quality foods loaded with nutrients and love. You know exactly what’s in it and how it’s made and that is why I believe so deeply that Health Begins With Mom!
